I recently purchased a game card for the wheel that I made and the pedals
that I plan to make.  It's a CH GameCard 3 (automatic) and is very good.
I'm very pleased with it.  It's configured with a program that is executed
from the autoexec.bat but is not a TSR.  It takes no memory.  Just sets the
card and exits.  The box states that it can handle "from 4.77 MHz up to 120
MHz and more!"  and also claims to be pentium compatible.  I'm on a 486
dx2/66 so not sure if it will handle a Pentium but can't think of any
reason why it shouldn't.  It cost me less than $50 and I think it's well
worth the money.

   Hope this info helps.

I've just ordered my Thrustmaster T2...I should have it within
a week..  I'm currently using a CH Flightstick connected to the
game port on my SB16.  I've never been terribly happy with the
way the alignment works in Papyrus games (other games are fine,
but ICR, Nascar, and ICR2 cause me grief).  Since I'm dropping
bucks on this wheel, I want to make sure it works right!

What kind of game card should I get?  I have a Pentium 133...I
assume I need a speed adjustable card; I used to have a Gravis
card in my 386 and 486, but it's toast now...and I'm sure it
couldn't deal with the higher bus speed anyway.  I'd like one
that can configure itself...I never did like the little dial
on the Gravis card... :)  Besides, my kid would probably eat
the damn thing... :)

Comments, please!

I'm using a T1 on my P5-120 with the standard Soundblaster 16 game port
and have had no problems at all in either Nascar or ICR2 (granted I only
tried the ICR2 demo, but how different can the controls be in the full
version?).  I would suggest that before you go out and spend (or waste)
your money on a game card, see if you really need it.  Wait until you
get the T2 and try it out with the game port on your soundcard.  If all
works well, save the money.  If not, then you can always go up to your
local Best Buy or Circuit City and buy an Adjustable game card
(thrustmaster makes a nice one I've heard) that same day.

Bottom line, if you don't need it, don't spend the money.

You need to get a Thrustmaster ACM game card.  It is speed
adjustable.  You will also need a Y-cable to hook up two joysticks.
The game card does have two ports but the top is only used by old dos
games.  The bottom I believe will take adavantage of new Win95 games.
It allows more than two joysticks, I guess!

I have a T2 and I have been using it with ICR, Nascar, ICR2 (Demo) and
F1GP with no problems at all. I do not have a game card, just a
Soundblaster AWE 32. Don't waste your money on a speed adjustable game
card - modern software simply doesn't need it.

I have an ACM (Thrustmaster) and the dial on it is removable (so you can hide
it from your kid.  OTOH, I didn't really need it.  I have a 133 as well and
there was no descirnable difference with my T2 plugged into the ACM as opposed
to the SB16.

Your mileage may vary.

Just a followup for any who care.. :)  Thanks for the replies, though.  I held off
on buying a game card and tried out my brand new T2 with my Soundblaster joystick
port, and all is fine, life is good!

I just have to get used to the new wheel... but at least now I can get around Nazareth
without leaving my pretty paint job behind.. :)
