Gp3 and Tcp/Ip ?

by Falcon2 » Wed, 02 Aug 2000 04:00:00

Ok just got the final verison it arrived here in the USA from the UK via
Airbourne Express. Got to say I love it, but was wondering if its possible
to play over the internet with 1 other person via Tcp/Ip? It has that option
in the multiplayer menu and its in the handbook, but I have read somewhere
in this newsgroup that in may be in the game menu, but its not implimented,
is this true or is it possible to play via the internet?

Thanks, falcon26

Gp3 and Tcp/Ip ?

Hi
It works. We use in either as Modem,TCPIUP or IPX as per the menu. We use
our modems, and for TCPIP or IPX we have set up a Server here using Dial Up
Server, and also a DUN connection. Essentially we have set ourselves up as
an ISP, so we can coinnect forst as an ISP and Subscriber. Then run the game
and use TCPIP or IPX. We did this as some good sims don't have modem to
modem play. In GP3, we think the Modem connection is better, but we have to
turn graphics down. Bit of a bummer as I run 1280x1024 at full graphics, and
at stand alone my PO is 70% at the back of a full grid and 50% everywhere
else. On modem play, we turn it down to 800x600, all mirrors off, and the
frame rate to 17 and its fine. Pity that we have to do this as we did in
GP2.
