I think he's mistaking the odd timing system that the GP programs use.
Essentially, if your system cannot maintain a preset fps, then the program
slows down your framerate until the system can catch back up. So when
the program displays a fastlap time or current leaderboard graphic, that
overloads the system and GP3 brings things to an almost complete halt.
It's not that his keyboard has ceased responding, it's more like the
program has slowed down to a crawl so that any keyboard input will not pass
completely through the sim for many many seconds.
The only cure I know of is to lower your video thresholds. If your
system can barely maintain 25fps at 1080x720, then drop down one or two
screen sizes to free up your cpu resources.
