This is exactly why I was saying that, once again, the fixed setup missed
the gear settings by one notch. One notch more and you could downshift
coming into the sweeping right-hander, have FAR more acceleration coming out
of it, and not have to upshift before coming to the tight left-hander. It
would _completely_ change how you drive the track, make it much more fun,
and produce better lap times.
I actually did quite a bit of practice doing just that, and hitting the rev
limiter about 50 feet too soon coming in to the tight left-hander. It was
producing better lap times but I blew up on the front-straight twice during
practice when in the draft.
Just one more notch... :)
