Well, it's Thursday.  Time for a rundown of this weeks track.  I like this a
lot :)  I am sure I am slow here but have been running consistent times and
not wrecking much.  I am running around 1:20 per lap, get some lower.  Need
to spend more time now that I am getting around turn five better.  Hopefully
I will start to see my laptimes drop.  This pit road is really hard to see
coming up to, maybe just me and I will get used to it but I think it is
pretty tricky.

I'm turning 15.9-16.3 by myself, and 15.03 in the draft (offline).
With human drivers to follow, 14.5's (or lower?) should be possible.

This old bloke Down Here has been practising (on-line) with the Fast setup
and turning consistent 1:15.xx's.
Using a joystick.

1:18's here, but then you won't have to bother with me tonight
as we'll be joining the party after the local "Dragonboat" Cup.

Yeah! ;-)

Best,

uwe

I like the layout, but I'm not driving it right, I think. 1m17.8s on my own
and the occasional AI assisted low 1m17s. Done one 1m16.3s lap, but that was
with a zinger of a draft.

BTW: the guy who made that <fast> setup is having a laugh at our expense,
IMO. The only time it handles is when it gets light as the banking rolls out
at T6.

The tires don't wear out too fast. In fact, you'll need gas long
before you need tires.  I was at the end of a fuel run and my tires
were still green.

1:20.2 after 7 laps...

Anyone think we should run this race *without* yellows?

I think yellows being ON will be okay today.  The course is nothing
more than a banked speedway with a right turn.

Yeah, and the pace speed is a pretty zippy 75mph.

Who was to know it was going to turn into a first lap hero convention? -Add
in a couple bad luck deals (gear lost, a freeze) and, for all intents and
purposes, you have an all yellow race.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind driving under yellow.... it's real easy and
people aren't allowed to pass me. It's just that driving at racing speed is
more fun and it's more important to keep it that way than to have that extra
position or be within a car's lenght. It's all about being aware and
responsible on the track.

There was really no reason for that many yellows. I think out of 43
laps we had ten under green.

People were trying to drive beyond their abilities in some instances,
and in others, they were either not maintaining awareness of cars
around them or just didn't care.

That track has a lot of "fun" potential if the racing is clean.

I'll have to take your word for it...
