Help with MTM 2 - Computer hangs at Races screen

I just got Monster Truck Madness 2 and my computer hangs EVERY time I go to
the races screen.  I read something in the readme file but it was unclear as
to what they meant.  I have:
Asus P2L97 P2 333
Diamond Stealth 2 G460 AGP
Creative Labs Voodoo 2 12 meg

I know it is my video because I can play everything fine in software only
mode.

Does anyone have my same problem?  Is there a fix or a patch anywhere?

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

BTW I have Win 98 and Dx6 installed
