(edit)

Good music?  Good as in unintentionally hilarious?  You're
joshing us, right?  I mean, the musical sequences are so
silly they are entertaining, granted, but "good"?

Hey, eveybody's entitled to their opinion, but I wouldn't
want some innocent person picking this movie up expecting
(among other things) good music, and suffering a massive
psychological discombobulation as a result.  :-)

What about that one with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman? Gee that was
good! I just cant seem to remember the name though. Gee he was goin
quick! I'm sure he was coming out of the corners at around 400mph! And
they were not speeding up the film or anything. Hehehehehehehehe.

>Neat!  Lot's of Chaparral footage?  If you say yes, I think
>I'll die and go to heaven on the spot.

It's a late 70s movie, not late 60s.   My recollection is that Jim
Hall was competing at Indy with the "Yellow Submarine" by that time.

Michael, Sorry to say,"Circuit" revolves around the late 70's revival of the
Can-Am, with it's rebodied, Formula 5000 chassis. It is a fasinating look
though, of Rahal, Sullivan,Fabi and others, who had just graduated from the
smaller formula and were moving up in their careers. Fantastic in car footage,
especially if you miss Riverside International as much as I do!

Whoops!  If all else fails, read the post, I always say.
Got carried away seeing the magical "Can-Am" name, a habit
I'd better break myself of, given it's "revival."

Thanks for straightening me out.

(And I wrote, like a doofus...)

I never attending an event at Riverside, much to my regret,
but enthusiastically followed the extensive coverage in the
Times (the race sponsor) when Can-Am raced there in the late
60s.

As I mentioned in another reply, I jumped the gun and missed
the "late 70s" part of the post.  My face is Ferrari-red.

But I'll defintely check the movie out--sounds better than
sitting through _Redline_7000_ for a brief glimpse of RIR.

I was getting ready to say that one was one of the worst.  Right up there with
Stroker Ace and 6-pack or whatever it was called.

DOT was a pretty good movie when it left the south back to hollywood and then
they hollywooded it up.  To a true Nascar fan, it was insult to your inteligence
as I'm sure Top Gun might of been to those in the know there.  I mean really, how
many times have you seen cars bouncing off the walls at Daytona and going on to
win the race.

I'll agree that the action is pretty good but other than that, it was exactly
what I thought it was before I saw it.....Top Gun in race cars.

If anyone, out there, hasn't seen "On Any Sunday", go out and get the video.
 It's about motorcycles.
They show racing, racing accidents, and some funny stuff, and it is the best movie ever made.
Kids will like it too.

"On Any Sunday" was made by a gentleman named Bruce Brown.
The movie is a semi-documentary about motorcycles and motorcycle racing. The
film features Steve MacQueen, Malcolm Smith,*** "Bugsy" Mann and many other
greats of the era. Included is wondeful footage of hill climes, desert racing,
flat track and more. The section on the Elisinore Grand Prix is worth the
rental fee. Give it a look if you have a chance, it's a lot of fun.If I'm not
mistaken, Mr. Brown also made the classic surfing film,"Endless Summer". He
treats motorcycles and the culture with equal respect.

All right, I've got to throw my two cents in......

How about Gumball Rally?  Cool movie about a race from NY to LA.  Had
Raul Julia as a factory Ferrari driver.  Still makes me want to see how
fast I can do it.
