S2 wont run in Win95

I installed S2 65k colour version to c:\s2 and when I run setup
only the top 1/3rd of the screen shows garbled setup menu, the
remainder is black. Are there certain properties that have to be
applied to the dos shell for it to run? I tried setting W95
resolution to 640x480 but that made no difference.
In the manual it stated it would add s2 to the program manager
but that didnt happen either.
If I use s2_3dfx patch will that solve the problem?
Also, in the manual it stated it would add s2 to the program manager
but that didnt happen either.

Secondly, will TM GP1 work on my standard game port? I went to Control
Panel/Joystick and the buttons work fine but there seems to be very
little movement on the cross in the test box, is this usual?
Never had any of these problems under dos 6.2/Win3.1!!

M/C spec: p2, AGP, 3dfx, 32Mb, Win95 osr2

Any help appreciated,

Thanks, Mike

Get Thrustmaster's ProPanel applet (which will replace the Joystick
applet in the Control Panel).  It will greatly improve your ability to
calibrate your GP1 inside Win95.
