I use a 3D pro - indeed I prefer it to a Thrustmaster Sprint Wheel
that I bought but couldn't get used to at all.
I have steering mapped to left-right joystick movement (tried the
rudder axes and that is OK but not quite as much control)
Throttle is mapped to forward on the joystick
Brake is mapped to the thottle slider
Change up is mapped to the trigger
Change down is mapped to button on top of the stick
Hat left and right are mapped to view left and right (but hardly ever
used)
Clutch mapped to the top side button
Raise arm mapped to bottom side button
I find the slide allows me to apply brakes just right to control lock
up - although I am still far to agressive to get really good times - I
hardly ever get round the Nurburg Ring (which I've been concentrating
on) without at least one Shift+R. I have however managed a 9:22:52 in
the Eagle at the Ring.
