F1RS and Monitor brightness

I've been running at Monoco alot lately and when I go through the tunnel
it's awfully dark. How can I increase the brightness to correct for this.
Can I setup a batch file to launch F1RS and do something with the gamma
settings? If so what settings should I try?

Thank you,
J.C.

says...

Just pretend it's realism...
Your eyes would be adjusted to the sun, and the tunnel would be quite
dark.

Just got it today in the states, so I'll have to look at it.
I could be full of it...

Why not just increase monitor brightness a tad?

I've hear they did the Monaco tunnel that way on purpose. Drivers say that's
exactly what happens when they go from the bright sun into the dark tunnel,
they almost can't see at all at first......

Hey John,

try these in your autoexec.bat or batch file to start F1RS, they
work for me. (I think only one is necessary, but I've been too lazy
to try which one, and having the other as well won't do any harm.) For
me (Canopus Pure 3d), the settings in display properties don't have
any effect for either F1RS or POD, although they do in other games
like TR2, and the converse is true for the environment variables
settings; they *only* work for the Ubi games... This goes for both
Gamma settings and clock frequency of the chipset -- I run it at
60MHz w/ heatsink and fan on top. Anyway, here's the settings you
were asking for:

set sst_gamma=1.9
set gv_env_gamma=1.9

Of course you'll need to adjust the values. Also note that these won't
do anything at refresh rates above 75Hz, so it might be a good idea to
add this one in as well:

set sst_screenrefresh=75

Just for completeness' sake, and before someone asks, here are the
other settings I use:

set sst_fastmem=1
set sst_fastpcird=1
set sst_pcird=1
set sst_grxclk=60
set sst_swap_en_wait_on_vsync=0
set fx_glide_no_splash=1
set fx_glide_swapinterval=0
set fx_glide_sst2=0
