All,
I responded to Christian through e-mail but will post my reply publicly
for any one interested.
You can run a single race (i haven't tried a season but it should work)
against the AI with multi IF you A. Connect 2 computers run the same ver
of multi with a null modem cable. or B. If you were lucky enough to get the
multi12b version( I don't have it) or C. Modem your buddy using multi.
I have two computers connected with a null modem cable and I run single
races all of the time. The second computer is 486 dx2-80 but I really
don't think that makes a difference as long as it runs Nascar.
Use the faster machine as the answerer and the slower as the caller( I
think). You'll have to boost the AI strength percentage quite a bit. I
ran Michigan at 105% and just blew the AI way...something I never do
in regular Nascar. Also, the AI seem to be a bit more aggressive with
each other..banging around and such.
It's great practice for Hawaii and for learning to drive in traffic
with the multi physics. I never race regular Nascar anymore. The only
thing is I have to run to the other room during the pace lap and park
the second car (unless my kids join in).
So...if you've got an old 386 or 486 put nascar and multi on it, hook
em together and go to Hawaii school!!
It's true that N2 is just around the corner but Nascar1 will still be
the vehicle for Hawaii for awhile yet and, imho, is justification for
using this method.
