Hawaii using AI

Picked this up the Motor sports forum on CIS.

After reading a post about the ability to race against the AI with
the Multi program for Nascar I decided to give it a try. I hooked my
computer to  486dx2-80  with a null modem cable  running the same
versions of Nascar and Multi. I then ran the multi.exe programs on both
the machines, selected multiplayer race and away I went.
This has given me the opportunity to really work on my setups and
test them in traffic in preparation for Hawaii races.  It also is just a
blast to race with the more stable multi physics model.
The AI seem to be a bit more aggressive with each other, a lot of
bumping and grinding betwixt them.  The only thing is that unless
someone is racing against me I have to run between rooms to dial and
answer and I have to park the second car on the grass during the pace
lap then catch up to the rest of the field.(easy to do).
Use the slower machine to dial and the faster to answer. This way
you can select the
track and opps levl from your faster machine. Oh, and btw, you may have
to raise the opps levels. I raced at Michigan at 102% and just ran away
with it. ( I never do that in regular Nascar).

     Chuck,

Sounds like you went to alot of trouble scheming that up.  All you
have to do though, is call a buddy across town for a modem race, only
both of you use the multi.exe instead of nascar.exe.

As you'll notice, the dialler still works under multi.exe...Just
make sure you both have the same versions like you did with the
null-modem hook-up.
