Can anyone tell me why the pitboard does not always come up? (and even
when it does it doesn't always show my lap time)
I have it set to autoshow.

Anyone know if there is a way (or add-on) to show the lap timer while
driving?

btw, what is considered a decent time for Monaco?

It does pop up each lap.  However it won't pop up after your first lap
since you start in the pits after the s/f line, and thus you haven't
run a complete lap until your "second" lap.  Results of your first
complete lap aren't displayed until you are nearing the end of your
2nd complete lap.

Follow?

None that I know of.  That would be pretty distracting anyways.

In an F1 car, any sub 1:30 time I suppose.

Bill.

It doesn't show up on your first outlap...however, if you finished a lap,
came in before seeing the pitboard, and went out again, that lap would be
shown on your outlap.

In addition to comments already made. Any time you want, you can hit F2
to take you into playback mode and see your lap time. I would like to
be able to get the pitboard to come up when I wanted, and stay up as
long as I wanted. I find that it pops up for to short a period to read
all the info, and at some tracks you don't really want to divert your
attention from the approaching corner. I'd like to have a steering
wheel button that would call up the pitboard when it was convient for
me, like on a long straight.

... it just occurred into my mind: Is there something wrong with
the Oesterreichring pit board information? Every now and then I
think there has been something crazy on it. I only have to cocentrate
to the first tricky right hander that much that I seldom have been able
to really read and think about it thoroughly. Anybody seen something
similiar?

The pit board is after the start/finish line at the O-Ring (same for Brands)
this causes the pitboard to display information based on the currently
completed lap.  The original tracks have the pit board before the start
finish/line and the pit board displays information based on the previous
lap.  It does get a bit confusing.

So it is possible to move the pit board past the finish line for all
the tracks, so that we have the current lap displayed for all tracks?

Of course it is.  That's why at the Ring you have the current lap
information, as the pitboard is past the start/finish line.  Just look in
your track.ini files.

Yes it is. Check the track.ini file for this section (eg: Monza.ini in the
Monza track folder):-

[ pit_lane_0 ]
lane_on_right = 1    ; 0 if lane on left, 1 if on right
lane_has_wall = 1    ; 0 if no pit wall, 1 if pit wall exists
lane_bounds_dlong = 5370.4 5715.0  ; start/end dlong of the pit lane
lane_bounds_dlat = -18.3 -3.7   ; start/end dlat of the pit lane
pit_board = 30.2 5440.0 -100.0 100.0  ; dlat of board, dlong of board, dlong
LOS start, dlong LOS end (last 2 not used)

 The pit board part is where you can change the location of the board. It
does take a bit of trial and error to get the board in the right place but
it's not too difficult.

Yes, thanks for the detail Peter. It was mentioned that it was
possible, but I wouldn't have known how to do it.
