Will the new Voodoo 2 sets have support for general 2D also or not ???&nbsp;&nbsp;
If not... which video card would be a good pair for the new Voodoo's ???&nbsp;
Would a StealthII still be a good card for $100.00 since it does help Winblowz95
and general computing in that environment ??

<P>I was going to purchase the StealthII soon to run N2 in Rendition...
but Im now going to wait and see if the 3dfx patch actually comes about
and just how good it will be.&nbsp; If it seems to be a very good patch..
then I will wait and purchase a new Voodoo board sometime in early 1st
quarter when they come out.&nbsp; However... I do still want a good general
2D accelerator card to replace my worthless RageII that came with my Gateway.

No, they are 3D only like the current Voodoo cards.  The Banshee, due
out Spring98, will be 2D/3D.

???

Depends on what you're looking for and ho wmuch you want to spend.  For
top of the line 2D, go for something like the MilleniumII.  For near top
of the line 2D and very good Direct3D, try one of the Riva128 based
cards.  If you want to be able to run Rendition games, try the StealthII
or perhaps upcoming the Hercules Thriller2D.

For $99, it's probably the best all around card you'll find.

That's the nice thing about add on 3D cards, you can pick the 2D card
you
like best. There was only one problem with S3 based cards, but there is
a fix available.
