Is the 2001 Formula One game by EA Sports any good?  They have it at
Circuit City for $19.99 and I figured it'd be a good buy if the game
itself is a good representation of the circuit.

If it's F12001 Championship Season then yes, if it's F12001 then pass.

Huh, is this PS2, or are you meaning F1 championship season 2000 and
F1 2000, where the first is way better than the latter ?

The PS2 version of F1CS2K is "unfinished".  I have heard the PC version
is very good.  F1 2001 (EA) will be out in Oct., and Formula One 2001
from Sony will be out in Sept.

Oops, yes I mean F12000 for PC. Thought that was what he was talking
about.

No, this was for the PC.  And I'm almost positive it was 2001 though I
may have been mistaken.

Well, just checked online.. I guess I was mistaken.  I'll have to see
which version it is.

Pass on F1 2000 for the PC, it was horrible, IMO.  I never tried F1
Championship Season 2001 for the PC though.  I've heard from a lot of people
that it's a lot better.  After my experience with F1 2000, I didn't want to
take the chance though.

I don't think the NEW F1 2001 version has been released yet...I think the
end of summer is the planned date.   So for $19 you probably saw F12k or
F1CS2k.  At this point, I'd pass on either and wait for the new effort.
Unless the Cart mods interest you.  then F1CS2k is worth it.

I do not agree that the PS2 version is "unfinished". It is an outstanding
PS2 game, it lacks some of the features of the PC version, but it is far
from "unfinished". I prefer the PS2 version over the PC version actually.

Apparently you have never tried the PSone version then.  The differences
are far too many to list.  Since they have had nearly a year to work on
the 2001 version, maybe this one WILL be finished.
