What's the general consensus about this product?

Just curious.

So it's not on a par with NASCAR 2003, I take it?

Bruce.

No...N2003 is better in pretty much every department.

If you mean NT 2003, I believe it was done by Pitbull in the U.K., the same
hacks who churned out "The Simpsons' Road Rage."  EA yanked it away from
Pitbull and gave the assignment for NT 2004 to ISI in Ann Arbor, the guys
who did F1 2002 and its predecessors.  Let me put it this way: if you're
impressed with what's being said in this forum abt. ISI's F1 Challenge
02-99, you ain't seen nuthin' yet.

Yes, Steve - it was NT 2003 to which I was referring.
I haven't seen the game and was just curious about it as I don't think I've
seen any mention of it here.

So you reckon NT 2004 is the one to keep an eye out for?

Yes.  (Due in September, I believe.)  It will be a fine product in its own
right, and will surely prove as "moddable" at ISI's open-architecture F1
series.

There are those who will argue that NT 2003 was barely on par with a mod
for F1 2k2.  Very similar situation to the original F1 2000 release.  F1 2k
was a rapidly made port of SCGT.  Only With thier 3rd generation, F1 2k1,
did they begin to get the sim right.
I suspect the Nascar sims will improve, but the ISI team will still have
some hurdles to leap to get on par with Nr2003.

I'm not abt. to compare apples & oranges, and I'm sure the NDA I signed
prevents me from going into detail, but suffice it to say that NT04 is a
huge improvement over not only earlier versions of that franchise but also
over anything ISI's done to date.  Cup fanboys and modders alike will find a
lot to love.

Well, now you have me keen to see the release of NT2004, Steve.
Your work here in this thread is done. :)

Bruce.
