GPL: specular highlights, etc. ?

Could some kind fellow explain briefly to a Dim One the difference between
(as located in the GPL graphics menu) Specular Highlighting and Dynamic
Lighting ?  The manual skips over this bit--tho' it does explain
Anti-Aliasing.

After having driven in 640x480 with many graphics options off, I've just
driven a lap around Spa (albeit at a slow framerate) in 600 x 800 with all
options on, and visually it was inspiring.  Yet another push towards a new
graphics card . . .

Thanks much

JUST DO IT!

For a few weeks I had been driving in 640x480 with many graphics options off,
at approximately 8fps. Then I bought the cheapest Voodoo 2 I could find. And
now it is flying at around 30fps with all the graphics on at 800x600. And
I am getting better laptimes thanks to the improved frame rate. Now I can
actually control the car at Curva Grande at Monza, before I bought the V2
card, I had to drive slowly or crash to the wall, now I can still catch it
before I hit the wall.

GPL is now so much more enjoyable!
