I wish GTR 2002 had a reward system more like Sony / Digital
Polophony's Gran Turismo series has. Don't get me wrong I really can
appreciate how great GTR 2002 is but I could really use a little more
incentive to race for 18 laps just to finish, pick another car and
another track and do it again. I want to earn the right to drive that
awesome Lambo or Ferrari. Does anyone else feel this way too? Do you
know if any mod makers have thought about working on something like
this?

Isn't this exactly what the new Simbin.com development is trying to acheive?

All the best,

I really hope not, I want to be able to race whichever car I choose at any
time I choose.
If someone wants to limit their choice of cras, just set certain levels of
achievement before you let yourself go up a series.

Ok then - dont let yourself drive the Lister until you've won a race in a
Fer. 360. There's a reward scheme for you.

I'd wager the rest of this group would rather drive what ever they WANT to
drive whenever they want to drive it

"Doug Ellison"
yeah why would I spend thousands of computer hardware to run something I
can get for a few hundred bucks with a ps2 and GT3??
Gimme the cars, not the game...

I didn't intend to offend the GTR veterans as I admit I'm definitely a
GTR novice. I've really enjoyed racing the new Corvette chassis at
Laguna Seca and find the driving model, graphics and sounds to be much
more fun then GT3. The reason I would pay thousands for PC hardware to
play a GTR 2002 / GT3 game would be high res graphics and the ability
to download updates to the game engine, new cars, new tracks, sounds
and so on.
I don't know why EA or anyone else for that matter hasn't noticed the
popularity of GT3 for the PS2 and tried to capitalize on it for the
PC.

Have you tried the Live For Speed demo/test release?

It plays a lot like a GT3 with better physics and AI.

At the moment it only has 3 generic production cars (with a points
system to lock out the faster 2 cars when you start out) and a single
circuit with 4 variations.  The first release for purchase (due in
mid-July) will include 3 additional cars, and 2 or 3 new circuit
complexes (possibly adding drag racing and autocrossing).  I'm not
certain of all the details, but you find all this at:

http://www.liveforspeed.net

From your posts concerning GTR2002 vs. GT3, I think you'll really enjoy
LFS.  Good little download!

Hi Jde,

No, I haven't tried the Live for Speed demo but I'm downloading it
now. Thank you for the suggestion and link to it. I'll let you know
what I think of it.
