I'm looking for testers to help me test my software.  Check out
http://www.racesimcentral.net/;If it sparks you interest,
it's yours to download.  Let me know if you download it.

Thanks,

Dean

No, Thank You.
Looks good, D/L'ing it now. I think you should emphasize here more that it
is an alternative to VROC, that doesn't require Netscape. Also needs a
"Catchy" name ;-). Maybe GPO, or some other acronym (why are WE so hooked on
them-thar stupid initial thangys ?? ;-))

I really like the look of this , I am using it right now but doesn't seem to
have any races going on. Nice job, I really like the little Monitor.

Yes, it's a VERY good alternative to VROC imo. It also consumes a hell less
memory then Netscape running with VROC at the background....

I tried it also and works very well.  FYI, it uses about 1/3 the memory of
Netscape 4.5

DLed software a couple of days ago but never caught anybody online until today.
I decided to host  and and one other connected for some practice.  Never did get
race going because he had to go but it really works well.  I think it is just a
matter of getting word out that alternative exists.

Any ideas?

you must enter the correct path to gpl.exe in the racer info.

This is a damn fine program that all GPL onliners should try!

Sure looks good, but it says there are no races, whereas I see 2 open
ones on Netscape and 3 already full... what have I done wrong?

I think it uses its own list of races, so that only races that the host
has setup through GPLSL will show. We just need more people to host on
GPLSL, then we'll be racing

Aha! That explains it. I will definitely give it another try then.
Thanks.

Too bad it can't access the same data VROC can- but I have no idea
what the conflicts with that must be.

Could work very well, but for that to happen both sides would have to
share information...  And (just my opinion) this isn't gonna happen
since usually all software authors are quite reluctant to the idea of
sharing their work.

Sad thing for us though, cause imagine what the possibilities would be
if everyone united their individual works...

I do understand though why people don't want to give up their
copyright on software.  It's quite *** the internet to get the
credit you deserve for your work.  If you share what you know,
there'll always be some scumbag somewhere who will release something
based on this knowledge and take all the credit...

As for VROC, I wish they'd unite their efforts, cause many people have
problems when Netscape's running in the background and GPLSL is a
great alternative.  Plus it'd make both ressources more interesting
cause we'd have access to more servers.  I wouldn't hold my breath
though...

Is that right? I thought it would look for *any* GPL races on the
internet?
