Nice subjective opinion Sim but this is why we have Vanilla, Chocolate
and Strawberry Ice Creams.. "Different tastes for different folks." <G>

| Here's an easy fix. Don't use FF at all. I tried it until the novelty wore
| off. Have since dumped my LWFF in lieu of a TSW2 as I had not used FF in
| over 6 months and quite frankly am a better driver without it (in sims of
| course).

No, but is there resistance when you turn the wheel while standing?  Yes!

It does return to center at a pretty high rate of speed.  Turning a corner
in my truck, after the turn, I can let go of the wheel and let it spin back
to center very quickly.

No, a pc wheel with the return to center spring activated does not have the
same feeling as an actual vehicle but it's closer to the real thing than not
having a return to center function activated IMO.

Watch out.  It may well give you a good case of "Stiff Wrist"! :-))

This is the 2nd force any sim should simulate; friction. There are a
few options when doing FF; the first thing is a Constant force (which
does the forces generated by the aligning moment of the steering
tires), and the friction force represents the overall resistance to
steering. Perhaps the 2nd force (friction) doesn't work. I had that
problem in my carsim before.
It should have at least a little friction, or some slider to adjust
that.

Yes, that is an option. In some games it is effective though. In
others, it's just a hindrance. For example, in F1RC there are no
forces for the road, all you feel  are the rumble strips, grass and
hitting the wall. No forces for the corners at all. Crap.

OK.

As others have pointed out, I have found that adjusting the ration to
12:1, adjusting the castors and increasing my wheel sensitivity has
helped a lot. On my non-ffb wheel I have always had the sensitivity at
it's lowest, but with this wheel I find in some games I need it at
max.

That should still be my option. Realistic or not.

Hi Jagg,

thes sensitivity issue is the one I've forgotten about. There is a
linearity slider in the Nascar 4 configuration, and you have to set it
to full linear, especially for a FF wheel. It's such an obvious feature
it was completely overlooked by me :).
