I had been told my old fashioned 3dfx V5 couldn't handle the new track
textures...so I kinda let them slide...but tonight, for no reason, I grabed
some of the updated textures for the Ring, the track, the horizons,  those
were good, but then I got the 'big clouds' sky stuff and that also changed
the hills...very impressive...Using D3d the ol V5 handles the new textures
and frame-rates seemed ok...  I'm pleased...The Ring looks very grand now.
Thanks to the guys who created all these track updates...and V5
owners...enjoy...

Hell, I'm using an old 12 meg Voodoo2 and the graphics updates for the 'Ring
work great for me!  I won a 3 lap FD league race at the 'Ring the other day
using the new textures for the first time other than for a quick 1 minute
shakedown to make sure they worked.  :D

I've been running everything plain jane with my V3 since I got GPL.  Headed for a new computer soon and have been absolutely drooling, the screenshots of addons people are putting out are just unbelievable.  Now if my wife gets me that custom race seat for Christmas, I'll probably never go to work again ;-)
