Logitech DF and Win2K and Split Axis /pedals

Logitech DF and Win2K and Split Axis /pedals

Well, I've searched around and the outlook doesn't appear promising,
but I thought I'd ask point-blank.

I have the Driving Force for PS2.  I have Win2K and Nascar 4 and I'm
trying to get the pedals to be used on independent axis.  I have the
wheel and pedals working fine, except the pedals are on a single axis.

Is there a way to change the regedit entry to have Win2k recognize two
pedal axis?  If one looks at the reg entry for the pedals, it appears
that maybe there's some hope:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\control\MediaProperties\Privat

But, I don't know enough about this stuff to know if it's possible to
change that entry to read something like "Separate Pedals" or
something simple like that.

Any help would be most appreciated!!!

We're messing with unknown territory here, John, but back up your Registry
and then try replacing the \1 with \0 so "Combined Pedals" is not in effect.
Generally the "1" enables and "0" disables.

Thanks for the reply - however, the previous entry to the one listed

likewise, when I use Nascar 4, the Axis listed are 0 for steering and
1 for brake and gas.  So, maybe adding an Axes\2 might help??  I'm
just wondering if the OS would recognize a third Axis.

I believe we're perhaps try to change a setting in the wrong area.  Maybe we
can step through this a bit, and come up with something.  The VID* entries
are really each specific to a controller.  I have two entry locations noting
my Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel, one at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateP
roperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_045E&PID_0015 which includes this line, "Center
the wheel, press the accelerator pedal half way down, then press a button on
your controller."  That is noted twice, once each on the entries for OEMCal1
and OEMCal3.

The other entry is at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateP
roperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_045E&PID_0034
which correctly designates the wheel by name and as a USB device.  This
position in the Registry apparently records the individual settings for the
buttons, force feedback, etc.

From this combined information, I would say changing the /0 to /1 or
visa-versa isn't going to do anything.  But, I believe you're correct in
that an entry in the Registry does control the pedals, however I haven't a
clue of the binary relationship between an entry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateP
roperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_045E&PID_0015\OEMForceFeedback\Effects and the 16
or so folders thereunder and ...\Joystick\OEM\VID... entries.

One other thing, there is an entry (here at least)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateP
roperties\Joystick\Winmm where the "wheel" carries a REG_DWORD setting of
0x00000001 (1), thus enabling the wheel on my system.

Never mind...got a message from Logitech that split pedal-axis is
impossible with today's configuration (GF for the PS2 on the PC)...
