Have been getting nice help on finding these drivers. Is everyone in agreement
that only 2.53 will work on GPL?

Thanks,

well, as far as I can see 2.53 is made for GPL ;-)

You can get it at The Fast Lane

I use the latest Monster2 drivers from diamond and DirectX 6.1. Since buying
a fan for my card, all problems have disappeared.

I've been using the latest Diamond 2.54 drivers on my Creative Labs 12 Meg
Voodoo2.  Works just fine.  Haven't messed with copying 2.53 to GPL or anything.

Another question:
I downloaded Glide 2.53, how to install?
I tried to put it in my GPL-folder, as was proposed somewhere else
earlier. Result: cannot run 3DFX anymore.

Any idea?

Jens

BTW: I have a Canopus Pure 3D Voodoo 1

Glide 2.53 is for Voodoo 2 boards. If I'm not mistaken, the current
Glide version for Voodoo 1 cards is 2.46. You don't need, or want,
Glide 2.53 on your system at all.

I was told to pop it into GPL folder (I'm installing Diamond Monster 3D II
Voodoo2 tonight). Which is it for my system, using 2.53?

If like me you need 2.54 for other games (Falcon 4 for one) then put
2.54 into the system folder and 2.53 into the GPL folder

Windows searches for .dll files in a certain order - starting with the
same directory as the program that requested them, and then
windows/system and windows directories.  So by doing what I said, most
programs will get the latest version and gpl the earlier release.

Well, when the drivers go through an "Install" or "setup" procedure,
they invariably get put into the \System folder.

I recently installed Glide  2.53 and was instructed to place it in the
Windows\System folder, which I did and GPL runs perfectly fine.
