I've managed a 109.xxx qual run, however there must be a better setup
that will allow speeds closer to 116.xxx?

One car lower the tire pressure only so much, and I've got all the
downforce possible.

It's not your setup -- it's your line around the speedway.  I can hit
118mph laps using the ACE setup.  You just have to hit your brake
points at the right places, use the right gear, and cut the chicane.

I'm using a slightly modified Qual setup and I'm knocking down 113.8's for
qual speeds...

Go to The Pits and get Jed's setup and track guide. Unfortunately, the fast
times at the Glen are done by cutting through the grass in the loop.

In all fairness, I'm sure the protester is talking about a LEGAL lap,
meaning not cutting any of the corners.

It is impossible to run laps faster than 115mph without cutting the
chicane or the next-to-last turn.  Do that, and you'll see a
MIRACULOUS increase in speed.

Well, I'm agre with u. I have Wheel and Pedals, i made 117mph lap
without cutting chicanes and a 125mph cutting it.

There is the same pb at indy(1&2) in the slow chicane at Austral
u can pass it in 6th Gear.

I don't "alter" the TIRES line in the text file!! Why dont you go look
at the fastlap records at the ivga page...

It just takes practice and patience that's all. Watkins Glen is one of
the easiest road courses!! Do you want to modem race?? Dave?? HUh??

Run for some money??

I guess my driving and setup skills are a whole lot better than yours,
huh??

I'm curious... what's your time if you stay on the track?
For the sake of realism, I've been driving on the paved surface, not just "between
the walls".

(much snipping)

Tony;
Can you do a 115 at WG staying on the track??
I'm trying to get an opinion of what a good lap speed is without driving
on the grass.   Comparing my asphalt only lap to someone elses "altered
lap" times is just too depressing.   :-(
