have anyone tried out the new hercules TNT drivers with GPL? Do they fix
the mirror problem?

You are right, they DON'T fix the mirror bug. Perhaps the next
release of drivers will allow the TNT to really shine with GPL.
Right now, setting the mirrors to "8" seems to help the framerate a
alot, you just get some laggy mirrors.
The TNT drivers are really nice, however.
