Demo works if sound is turned off- I havent tried every single possible
setting in that menu, but I did try the sofware emu, the fake 3d/2d default
one, the sb live one that would work with my card, youd think, and one other
randomly. All settings except -no sound- lead to a black screen hang right
after launching.

Not having this work is stopping me from buying the game, so:

Anybody figure out how to get this working, or;
Anybody have the demo sound not work but got the full game sound to work?

machine is p3 800 on via 133mhz chipset - radeon 32ddr - soundblaster live
card..ugh i can never figureout what its called besides that, its not the
5.1 one, its the 4 speaker one.... 384mb ram

No one's posted with a problem like that before, so it can't be a
general sblive issue, more likely a driver problem. Try updating your
sblive drivers, also unistalling and reinstalling the demo. DX8 as
well.

I haven't had any sound problems with my sblive value (that's what
yours is I'd guess). On an AMD system.

Yup- that did it, thanks... didn't even end up installing any newer versions
of anything, just reinstalled DX8.

Still dunno if I'm gonna go with rally trophy tho. Seems... fluffy somehow.
Not even sure why... although no real courses and the silly caller comments
aren't helping any, it's not just that.

Might wait for CMR3 and then end up going back to rally trophy :P
