I have a problem when I start a race. The problem is that the AI is
much faster than me during the start. When I use launch control, It
takes a second or 2 before my car picks up the speed, while the AI is
blasting to the left and right of me (and into my rear :-/ )
I'm actually faster without using launch control, so I must do
something wrong..

The way I use it: I keep the launch control button press, give full
throttle, as soon as the lights go green I release the launch control
button.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a car setup thing?

Ok.. so.. why could it be than I accelerate so much slower than the AI
at the start?

Yes I did the same thing but if you have traction control on it will cut in
to stop your back wheels spinning which will effectively slow down your
start. To make a faster start slightly reduce your accelerator to stop the
wheels spinning until you start moving then press the accelerator down all
the way. Theres a definite nack to it. Also reducing traction control to LOW
setting can help but obviously you increase your chances of wheelspin then.

That works, but I think the way it's supposed to be used (at least this
works for me) is you put the car in neutral, rev it up, then punch the
button when the lights go off.  Seems to give me a somewhat faster start
than the way you described.

I have traction control turned off (I'm a real man <g>) so maybeI do
have a lot of wheelspin at the start. I allways thought the launch
control also controlled wheel spin at the start :-/
I'll fiddle around with the amound of throttle at the start, thanks
for the tip!
