You can fastforward and rewind (at a set speed though I think, haven't
tested it much). The angles leaves a bit to be desired as they're very
limited. Unless there's some key to switch through more angles that I
haven't stumbled upon. Basically I get the TV-style stationary camera,
in-cockpit view, and the T-bar camera.
I stand ready to be corrected on this, as it's a feature I haven't been
playing a whole lot with.

The nicest camera in 2001 and 2002 are those who shake by the wind when a
car passes :)

GP3 2000 season is supposed to have the same replay GP4 has. That is, you
have the option to set how much you want to be able to replay (at a memory
usage penalty). Up to a max of 1.5hrs IIRC.

Out of curiousity, how large does this file get after 1.5 hours? A hotlap
seems to be a bit over 100k on average. That's a bit over a minute driving
time. So like 16-20 MB?

there's nothing problematic about that, btw.

gnus don't kill people. gnus-summary-lower-score kills people.
Depends how you set the hotlap. In free practise you're the only one on
track I think. But if you save a qualifying hotlap you can switch to the
other cars on the track while replaying the hotlap.

I like driving full length races. I feel that's where the true test of skill
lies. Being able to cope with the pressure of chasing cars and catching up
to the front runners etc for 1.5ish hours. I do save during those races, but
it's mainly cause I don't always have that much time in a go, and I'm not a
big enough fanatic to ignore bathroom/coke refill breaks.
A friend of mine many years back challenged me on GP1 (WC). He was wicked
fast, but he didn't win a single race cause he was just unable to keep
clocking consistent laps and his average turned out way lower than mine over
the course of the race. It was especially amusing since he was a competition
freak. He absolutely could not stand losing and kept on coming back for
more. :)
