those were the years of the GENERAL MOTORS racing ban.  Self inflicted
by the corporate hotshots until the early 1970's.  the year of Legends
has no representation , officially, by GM because of it

If memory serves, GM had a presence in some of the lesser races NASCAR ran
in those days, but no official presence.  I seem to recall some independents
running GM cars at that time, but not necessarily on the superspeedways.
During the late '60s and early '70s it was even possible for some good
locals to make a NASCAR race, so I'm sure there were some GM cars.  (NASCAR
ran points races all over the place back then--dirt tracks, bull rings, you
name it.) Hell, you might even have seen a Cadillac on the track during
those years. <g>

Take a look at page 156 in the NL game manual...that car inside the Torino
looking for sponsorship sure looks like a Chevelle......hummmm...where are
those black helicopters
