Thrustmaster FF Wheel profiler problems

by Art McEwe » Sat, 06 Jan 2001 00:39:11

I sent this to Thrustmaster a couple of days ago and am still waiting for a
response:

I got a TM Ferrari Force Feedback wheel for xmas, it works great but when
I've got the profiler software running in the background to remap the
buttons to keyboard inputs Grand Prix Legends crashes after a few minutes.
If I run GPL without the profiler running everything appears stable.

It sometimes comes up with a blue screen (0E exception from 0028:C0030D61 in
VXD.---  called from 0028:CA304005 in VXD.---   (dashes not underscores)),
other times it just boots me back to windows.  I tried both DX6.n and DX8.0.

Also any keyboard inputs run through the profiler are typed in the game much
slower then they were actually recorded in the profiler,  so slow that
they're not timely enough to be used.

Thanks,

Art.

System:

Aopen AX59Pro
AMD K6-2 450

Win 98SE
USB connection
Rendition based 3D board (genoa Vraptor)
GPL 1.2.0.1
DX 8.0

the simple solution is to NOT use the profiler.  It adds an unnecessary
layer between your wheel and the sim.  You can program "some" of the buttons
inside gpl itself.  while not a perfect solution, it is simple and
effective.

That's been what I've been doing, but I was hoping to be able to have PIT
OUT, Sorry, etc.. button-able, as my keyboard is out of reach when I race.

Other wheel manufacturers seem to have it working....
