Open Wheel Mod : Graphic issues

by Rudebo » Sat, 17 Jul 2004 02:30:47

I have a fairly competent system that gives me 60's & 70's FPS in NR2003 and
mods pretty consistently but the Open Wheel Mod I run in the 40's then it
bogs down to single digit figures for a few seconds a lap and then back up
to the 40's (by which time I've stuffed it into the wall).  Sometimes my car
will loses it's painted skin and flash white for a few seconds during the
slow down. I've tried turning down graphic settings but with only partial
success.  I'm running a 9800 Pro. Is this a known problem?  Any fixes?

Also I have half a left mirror and no right mirror.

Other than that I really like the mod.  Very good mod for the envelope they
had to work within.  I'd like to congratulate them. Just hope that they work
out the graphic bugs.  I think some of the criticisms in the other post were
a little unfair and I hope it doesn't discourage them.  It's still a work in
progress.  As for the grip levels I think they are realistic.  IRL cars do
have WAAAYY more mechanical grip.  Due to both architecture and tires.  And
obviously they do have way more aero grip.   After all if you're going to
create a racing series that your stepson can race in you have to make it
pretty easy to stay on the track. ;-)
