Hm. I'm guessing the 3 cars you haven't unlocked are the Ford Escort,
Renault Alpine, and Lancia Stratos?
I haven't had a lot of time to play rally trophy lately, but my
favorite cars by country are:
1. Russia - Lancia Fulvia
2. Kenya - undecided
3. Finland - Renault Alpine
4. Sweden - undecided
5. Switzerland - Opel Kadett
At the stage you're at, I'd stick with the Lancia Fulvia until
everything is unlocked. Over the course of a full 5 country
championship, I really feel that is the car to beat. It's easy to be
consistent with and has more horsepower than any other front wheeled
car. The Lancia Stratos is faster but over a full season I can't
imagine not making a huge mistake somewhere (hell, I have a hard
enough time getting through single stages with it in some rallies) and
it's not so much faster that it's worth it imho. I like the Opel in
Switzerland tho...it's weight kills the top speed in the long Swiss
straights but at the same time it helps with traction on the fast
bends, with the loose gravel (you can really put the power down,
moreso than in any other rear-wheel drive car). As the manual
describes it, the Renault Alpine is an absolute joy on tarmac stages.
So far the Finnish stages in the Renault are the one place in the game
where I can really drive fearlessly. It's a shame it doesn't generate
enough grip on the gravel stages.
It's really amazing how different each car handles. I can't imagine
how any driver could compete on a gravel stage in the Fiat 600 Abarth,
for instance, with the light weight and awkward torque curve spinning
the wheels all over the place. I think if you can master all the cars
in the game on all of the stages then you've really accomplished
something on par with the Monsters of GPL ranking.
