TNT2 driver problems ??

by V \ » Tue, 18 Nov 2003 03:25:38

I installed a 2nd hand (but still good) TNT2 card into my GF's machine to
"speed" her up some. She has a P2 450, 96meg ram, Win98......slow and old,
but it gets her by with what she does. She also had only a 1meg Cirrus card
still. I installed the nvidia (AGP) and then went online looking for
drivers. Original driver disk long gone now. The only drivers I found and
figured would be best are he newest from July/03. Well........it freezes
almost immediately upon boooting and every now and then it will run for
about 10 mins then freeze. Then it commences witht the constant boot
freezes. This card should work, it came out of a P2 500 with 128m ram. I've
tried different screen sizes and bit rate....same results. Any ideas??
Anyone have a site where I can get first run drivers to try??  TIA

Download and try some other driver sets. The 30.82's were very stable.

Using TNT2 PCI as a second video card (motherboard has an onboard SiS,
disabled on Windows) on Windows ME, using the latest 45.23 and DirectX 9.0b
without any problems.
