The Need for Speed

Any Need for Speed fanatics out there??  I have been playing NFS for about 2
years now.  I just found some sites on the web with tracks and files for this
awesome game.

Question:

How come you can modify and create new tracks but cannot make new cars such as
in NFS2 or 3?  I would love to get some new cars.  I would just get NFS2 or 3,
but my computer is tooo slooow.  Don't have the funds to get the computer I
need to run the latest game so I have to make due with the original (the
original is great, I can't imagine what the newer ones are like !)

Also, is there anyway to capture the pictures the program shows when loading
the tracks.  These are AWESOME pictures.

Hope someone reads this.
Sorry so long.

I'm pretty sure there an explanation of how this is done on NFS Online
(http://www.nd4spd.com/). I guess the only reason why there aren't cars
for NFS is because no one has cracked the car files for that version.
But I'm just guessing.

I haven't tried this with the original Need For Speed title, but in the
NFS2SE product (run in Windows 95 only), I've been able to transfer the
pictures by hitting Print Screen, then loading Photoshop (or some other
graphics editing program) and pasting the clipboard image into a new
image file. I suppose the same technique would work in the original,
provided you have it running under Windows 95.
