Hey what can I say? I bought GPL after the FF patch and it is certainly
head & shoulders above the rest. I'm thinking about removing F1RS ;-)

I should point out that the awesome FF implementation is the *ONLY*
thing which swayed me. In other words no FF in GPL and I would never
have tried it.

I have tried them all.  I am not a fan of GPL I did not enjoy it due to its
complexity.  I don't have weeks to learn to drive a damn car.  F1RS2 is my
favorite. Since visiting many Grand Prix in Europe over the years I prefer
modern day F1 cars.

A perfectly valid opinion - I believe what you're saying is that you
want a *game*, not a simulator - and there's nothing wrong with that.

On the other hand, I believe the question in the title of this post was
"Which is the best car simulator ever?", and this title certainly goes
to Grand Prix Legends.

It's also a great game, if you're looking for a true challenge!

I've only ever played the demo of SCGT but from that, cannot believe that it
compare the two true driving sims out there: Grand Prix Legends and Cart
Precision Racing.

GPL is much easier to get up and running. CPR is easier to master. Both have
equally excellent physics.

Hmmm I think SCGT is an incredible sim.  Never played GPL (only
because I don't like the demo) and CPR is from M$.

But NOTHING compares to SCGT in the rain with a 3dFX video card.
NOTHING!!  Absolutely nothing.  It is just phenomonal.  I mean it's
broadcast quality.

<<I am not sure how they do it now, but I know in years past we used our
hand to detect the heat ...either being hotter in the center, inside,
or outside just after a practice session. Then we graduated to the
high tech stuff ... a digital thermometer that we poked into the tire
... once again right after a practice session.

I too would be interested to know the how to on tire temp telemetry
being on board. I know in Nascar they are not allowed any onboard
telemetry during a race, but during testing it is widely used ... once
again though I don't know about onboard tire temp, or even a feed to
the pits. Interesting thought though.

/Wiley>>

I would suspect that they have IR sensors mounted in the wheel well area
which would either record, or read out to the driver/crew via remote.
