  • First impressions of the Rally Championship Xtreme demo 2001-08-31 · 21 posts
Olly Greenfield asked whether the Rally Championship Xtreme demo was worth downloading. Impressions were mixed to negative: some praised graphics and found the physics decent, but many reported control lag or oversensitivity, no force feedback, automatic gears only, graphical corruption and poor frame rates. David G Fisher explained that it used the Rally Championship 2000 engine but came from a new developer because Magnetic Fields had closed.
  • Rally Xtreme demo performance and control problems 2001-09-01 · 31 posts
Tim Deatherage could barely run the Rally Championship Xtreme demo on a Pentium III 450 with a Voodoo 3. Others reported low frame rates and stuttering even on faster machines, and Andre Warringa and Jan Verschueren found steering with a Logitech wheel uncontrollable because of a large deadzone followed by over-reaction. A few found it playable and fun, but the general verdict was poor.
