It may not be a bug, but it is something of a stopper for those of us
who don't have a 3Dfx card and who are perfectly happy with the card
we have. >

This is absolute trash. GPL was still one of the few games in 1998 which
didn't ship with working opengl or direct3d.

I would of appreciated a few patches from Papyrus. Might of even kept me
interested in it a lot longer.

Crappy framerate could of been improved. The old line, "it's the physics
model zapping the processor" doesn't hold water when by simply changing to
chase view, your framerate shot way up. Physics are the same in both views.
The graphics engine just isn't that good. BTW, when is someone going to
blame the poor framerate in F12000 on the "ultimate physics model"? No, that
would be impossible. Only with GPL can that claim be made.

D3D being left out was a joke.

Anyone care to list alllllll the steps necessary for a GPL newbie to play
online? Downloads......core ini. changes........modem setting
adjustments...........etc. Geeez. Two years later and people are still
trying to find out how to keep from being disco'ed. A patch which made
online play as simple, and with equal performance to the MS and Ratbag
titles, Papyrus's own N3, and now EA's F1 2000, would of been much
appreciated.

This game has the absolute best graphics quality I have ever seen in any racing
game. The environments are colorful and beautiful to drive through, albeit
distracting because of it. The cars are a bit too hair-trigger twitchy for my
preferences, but maybe thats realistic for these types of vehicles. I like the
way that you can explore offroad a bit also. There are a few quirks in the
physics model, such as the way that your car can slide laterally across a
hillside or trench for a few seconds even after all momentum should have
dissapated. Anyways, I am very happy with the game, although I have had it
crash 4 or 5 times after a race has concluded
