I havn't heard these sounds on my 32meg P166. The only time I've heard
the sounds that are not in the game was when I used a sound ripper on
the "sample.cat" file.

Hey, this V12 sound sounds cool, excellent idea to patch a recorded sound
into the game sound
Where did you get the V12 sound from?  Could you quote the URL?

Don't think so.  I've got 32MB and hear no extra sounds.  Are there
different versions of the game?

I agree. I have a pentium Pro 200MHz with 32Mb RAM  and there are no
sounds. I think if Microprose had included them in the actual game (ie. not
just in the SOUNDS.CAT) then it would be documented. There are a lot of
people out there playing GP2 with a bigger system than that one - I'm sure
everyone here would know about it

Likewise. I had 16 MB, and then 32 Mb, and no sound. Though in a few
places there are faint muffled sounds, like voices. But you can't make
anything out, it allways occur at the same portion of the track, and I
believe those sounds were there at 16 MB also.

If your plank touches the track, you will hear it faintly.  I didn't notice
it until I drove with headphones.  That could be what you're hearing.  Look
to see if the plank indicator on the lower right side of the***pit lights
up when you hear the sound.

The net is full of people who are compulsive liars. This guy is one of
them. No doubt his version of GP2 features rain & network.
