thanks for the link!

Here's another game with excellent physics:

Hey! thats a very nice little game.  I'm stumped on level 4.  I cannot
build a bridge spending too much money....  Pity the trains weren't
textured.

I've got a degree in engineering, ought to be able to solve this aaarrrgh!

Bah...this is doing a very good job of distracting me...I am stuck on level
6...I just can't get enough support in the middle...any tips from the
engineers in the group?

we found that game at work a few months ago. my best for level 4 is
$3300.
Take a look at the "Load Bridges" option and see some of the example
bridges, and steal ideas :)

Jesse when you load up the game/program/thingy do "Load Bridge" instead of
"Start Game" - level 6 is one of the levels that comes with a solution in
the download - it's a very impressive one too, costs about $4000 less than
my bodge job....

thats cheating!!!!!

I'd rather bodge away (and take a sneak peak at the Forth Rail Bridge which
I can see from the window!)

Rrrrrrrgggghhhhh..... what is the ***y point of making the
game require an OpenGL card and a 200mhz machine? Such a simple
game could run on a 386 (or my 180mhz plain-video one) if you
coded it to.

This one proves beyond all doubt what I have said all along... It really IS
more fun playing something with believeable physics and lego graphis, than
some eyecandy game with no connection with the real worl.

I have more fun and more of a "just on more time... just one more time" fell
than with many of the fantastic looking new big games.

Most of my bridges so far has been really wierd looking... but damnn its
***ive ;)
Ohh and I'm having some trouble at level 7 !

Mikkel

PS: anybody know a website that explains the basic principles of
bridgebuilding... I would like to get a better understanding of why my
bridges collapse in the most hillarious ways.

You guys are going to love this:

http://www.bridgebuilder-game.com/

It's the unofficial fan site for the bridgebuilder game.

There are a ton of bridges people have created that you can download and see
how they work. There are some utilities you can use to build your own levels
or add more $ to your current level. Lotsa good stuff.
