Well, I prefer to run in 8x6 myself, even when I turn off some detail in
10x7 to indicate a steady 30fps, I still get the occasional frame
stutter in some corners, so I've stuck with 8x6 and all details on
instead

Some people seem to have problems with this card yes, have you tried
running 8 bit sounds, or do you have an old Soundblaster 16 (or
something) lying around that you could try to swap in temporarily ?

Yeah, it was a very long shot indeed, have you checked with Abit to see
if there's an update referring to problems with some soundcards ?

I know there's was an issue with the MX 300 soundcards and some Abit
Mobo's

Beers and cheers

Do you mean you can't PHYSICALLY set it up, or that it doesn't run well?  We
set one up at work without a swap partition with no problem, once we installed
64MB memory...
It's just a test system, so it's not really running anything else right now.
So, I can't comment on it running WELL...<g>

That's right. I tried this with Redhat 6.0 and disk druid. I never
really looked into it though and just created the swap partition. I
can't even remember why I wanted to try it without swap partition? .....
Oh yeah, I was trying to get Linux running on my dad's PC, but there was
some weird s$%t happening. I thought that might solve the problem.
