The DirectX drivers shouldn't make a difference, but with Windows, you
never really know.  Did you install the latest patch?  I've heard that
some people can't run N2 in a dos box after installing the latest
patch.  BTW - There is no DirectX 4.

I recently installed the latest directX drivers from Xwing vs Tie
fighter.

Now every time I try to run N2 from windows it says the MS dos Prompt
must be run in dos mode????

I have a 166/32 meg and have NEVER had ANY problems running N2 with
full options in Win95 environment. Any ideas out there as to why this
is happening?

I don't know for SURE it is the Direct x drivers, but that is when the
problems first started to appear. I've even re-formatted my hard drive
a couple times in vain effort to get this to work.

It runs fine in Dos Mode, btw.

If you open your Nascar2 folder and then right click on the file you use
to start Nascar2 (nascar2.exe, nasrend...etc.) and then choose
'properties' -'program' -'advanced' you should see some check-boxes
that  allow you to setup how the program is ran (MS DOS current
configuration, etc.) I 'think', actually, you may not want any of them
checked.... Not sure, I'm working off of memory....now what was I
saying... ;o)

Anyway, take a look and see how yours is set and change it accordingly.

I was going to Email this to you but my Email is down right now. I hope
you see this, and I hope it helps...
