The V3 2000 does not have TV out (and slower SDRAM.) The V3 3000 (and
presumably the 3500 too) has TV out.

From what I've read...yes, but it's close.

For sure, V3 is the best card for GPL ! and it works verry well with other
games. Last month, i bought a TNT2 Ultra to replace my V3 3000. I regret it.
The TNT2 is a good card, but the drivers are verry poor.

From all that I have read

http://www.sharkeyextreme.com

Voodoo3 2000's, 3000's and now the 3500's(shipped 7/30) are one of the
best cards out there. Yes, the TNT gets it's share of support as well
but for 3dfx, go with the V3's. The V3's can be overclocked succesfully
and compare slightly better than 2 V2's in SLI mode. Of course you free
up 2 pci slots and reduce heat :o)
I believe the 3500 are speed sorted memory form the 3000's and can be
overclocked to 220mhz..... You can also watch your favorite episode of
Baywatch while surfing. Who needs to leave the house now :o)
Good Luck, Matt

The Voodoo 3 works with 99% off the games, but any videocard has a problem
with a certain game, although it may run with all other games.
Personally I would recommon a V3 if you don't have a V2 already, otherwise
it could be a good idea to upgrade to a TNT2 (eg. Diamond Viper 770
ultra...) or the New Maxtor G400 Max (to be released), because then you get
best of both worlds. If you have a AMD K6-* then go for the V3 3000.

I did a comparison on my site on my humble 450 mhz between a V3-3500
and a Sli Voodoo 2 setup. I tested Grand Prix Legends, Falcon 4 and
other games....

A week or two ago, I returned & exchanged a RIVA TNT for a Voodoo3 3000
AGP because the performance of the TNT was poor in any driving sim I
encountered. The new drivers they released helped, but weren't enough.  I
find for GPL & other racing type sims, this card (V3) screams.  But if
you also like flight sims & are considering getting Fly!, you may want to
reconsider a V3.  It has been optimized for the likes of TNT2 AGP cards.
I'm sure there may be other sims that don't work as well, but I'm
positive of this one because I bought Fly!.  But, seeing how most of my
time is with racing sims, I'll just have to live with pink runways &
purple-blotched clouds.

The box said "Windows 95 or better", so I installed LINUX!

Hi Wenmity,

The V3 is great, although you'll have some problems to find V3 300
;-)

Haven't found (also not searched for) any game, which isn't running
with the V3. The driver support by 3DFX is shit, but future will heal
(hopefully)

You can buy the V3 X000 OEM everywhere in Malaysia.

For the TV out: I'm not 100% sure, but one of the two advantages of
the 3000 (beside the clock-rate) is the TV-out. Should be in each of
those.

Yes sir.  I'm absolutely sure.  The issue with Fly! is that it was made
with
32-bit cards in mind, and 16-bit cards get a color palette problem of
sorts.
But as I said, if he exclusively races & doesn't intend on buying this
particular flight title, he will probably be pretty well satisfied with
a V3.
Just wanted to make sure he was aware of such an issue, & let you know
that
there is at least one sim out there that has a problem with this card.
