I have a V3 3000 and it works with all my games, and as a reviewer, I
get a lot of them.  What specifically have you heard it doesn't work
with?

Just installed mine today.  I only play GPL...so I can't comment on other
games but it is great in GPL.  36 fps with all graphics ON, 1024X 768
resolution.  Just have to work on a few color adjustments and it will be
perfect.  Install latest drivers.

It works with every game I have. And I have pleanty. The only
incompatablility is in dos mode. You will have to run gp2 under Win9x but
that is true for all new video cards.

The latest drivers are very nice if only for the nice alpha blending.
On one of the Voodoo-related web sites, there were some Quake 3 shots
showing the effect of alpha blending and comparing a V3 in 16-bit mode
with a TNT2 in 16 and 32 bit modes.  The V3 was clearly about 80% as
good as the TNT2 32-bit in quality with alpha blending on, and no mesh
effect, and it destroyed the TNT2 in 16-bit mode.

Make sure it truly does have TV-out. If I remember correctly, that feature
was left out of some V3 cards.

The V3 3000 has a TV-out.  That I know because I have one.  I'm pretty
sure it runs at a higher clock speed as well, but the 3DFX web site
can spell out the differences.

If you are getting ready to buy a new graphics card, I would highly
recommend checking out the TNT2 Ultra before making your buying
decision.

Not if it's an OEM version!

Some OEM cards do have TV out.  Mine has it.

I could have bought one without for $15 less, but they were sold out.

1 very good point in my v3 2000 AGP, some games work good both modes , GLIDE
and D3D.
IF GLIDE HEATING TOO MUCH (warzone2100), I chance D3D, and it is smooth as
GLIDE, but dont crash (well, little overclockin..:-)
I dont need try this GPL or MGPRS2, because both work great (1024*768 mode,
over 35fps)

Sorry...I assumed we were talking about people going out and buying
the thing, which is generally retail.

Remember also to keep CPU speed in mind.  A theoretically faster 3D
board won't do you much good if, at your computer's speed, it bogs
down the CPU too much with 3D geometry calculations.   One of the
boards that is really good for SLOWER computers ( < P300 ) is the
Rendition V2x00 series boards, as they were less CPU intensive than
the Voodoo2.   I didn't see any benchmarks that convinced me the TNT2
was worth the extra cost on my P300.  Add to that the cheap ($120)
price of the Voodoo 3000 AGP and I made up my mind to go that route.
