I will agree with you here.  There seems to be a problem reading my CH
Pro Pedals as I also experience the engine immediately accelerating to
redline even though I am only using half throttle.  Anti-spin fixes
this but I would rather run without it.  Other than this I have no
other problems with the game...but GPL it is not.  Perhaps someday we
will see a package that uses that beautiful engine.

I must assume that you haven't tried GPL.  Give it a go, if you like
realism in your driving model you won't be dissappointed.  It is far
more advanced than MGPRS2.

I didn't have this problem with MGPRS2 at all, but I still found I was
quicker with the anti-lock brakes and anti-spin turned on.

I agree that the physics are nowhere near as advanced as GPL, but they
have done a great job in the graphics of the Monaco circuit.

In some ways it was a disappointment when I played it in stereo 3D - the
track became an incredibly detailed origami model instead of something
that looked like a photograph of Monaco!

Fascinating to see how they'd put it all together though!

You possibly had some points in this post, until you got HERE.  All I can say is
*PLEASE!*  Better beware while hotlapping with your CPR for Hell's Grannies that
are disguised as the AI.  Don't know how many times I blasted them in the
backside, not seeing them until the last possible second when its too late.  And
then, there is no damage to them to boot!  Granted F1RS is flawed.  That's a
given.  But the AI aren't nearly as bad (slow), and there will be some measure
of damage if you were to nail them.  Let's keep this all in perspective now!  A
tough call it isn't, by any means.

You're right. It's not a tough call. I can run in CPR by myself for hours on
end. I can't even get to the track in F1RS. If I do it's about three turns
before I go to watch reruns of Laverne and Shirley. Boring doesn't even
begin to describe it. If the car responded in any way that was interesting,
challenging or realistic it might be worth the effort. What I am probably
most upset about though, is the fact that they have all the makin's of a
company that could turn out a modern F1 sim but refuse to.

Why?

Sure, it may have it's drawbacks.  But if I'm forced to race alone, as you state
is your case with your CPR, then *that* would really get boring quick!  Let's
see.....Start->Settings-> ummm->Control Panel->Remove old programs.....

You're right.  We need an F1 (modern) sim with GPL style physics.  That could be
a world beater, if done correctly.  You listening Papy?

GPL PHYSICS????  WHO BUY THAT GAME THEN??
PAPYRYS HAVE MUCH TO  LEARN UBISOFT PROGRAMMERS, HOW TO REAL SIM ARE MADE!!!
GPL HAS BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS ( BUT NEED FOR SPEED TOO)
BUT WHERE IS REAL SPEED FEELING?!?!
NO SHIT, NOT GPL.

I beg to differ on this one, and I'm a kinda fan of F1RS too.  But GPL physics
in the sense of 3d physics are a vast improvement over the "flat" feeling of 2d
physics present in these other titles.  I think what you and many others have a
problem with is the "difficulty factor" inherently present with learning a new
driving model.  Should a scaled-back physics option be available as well, it
should be fairly pleasing to both camps I would think.

"Schuma" wouldn't be related to "Schumi" by any chance?

Looks like another troll to me!

As it happens I think the feeling of speed in GPL is *fantastic*
compared to MGPRS2, at the risk of feeding the troll!

If you want a feeling of (insane) speed, try Wipeout - if you want
something approaching realism, which IMHO is much scarier(!) try GPL.

I have OF1R with Patch 2 installed.  I'm unable to change the pit
strategy in the garage.  You should be able to navigate the pit strategy
using "arrow" keys, but I'm unable to change anything.  This is in the
Race setup, where you should be setting the pit strategy.  All I have is
the default, which seems to be one-stop.

I tried both "realistic" and "relative" fuel/tire wear settings with no
change.  I've tried different race lengths with no changes either.  I'm
running simulation mode with expert level difficulty.

Further, during the race, the car is not directed to the pits on the lap
indicated in the pit strategy by default.  If I drive in the pitlane, it
simply does a drive thru without stopping.  If I indicate a pit stop
call using period (.), as per the manual, there is no effect.  I never
get "pulled" into the pitlane and again, if I drive in, all I get is a
drive thru.

How do you get pit stops and pit straegies to work... Am I doing
something wrong, or did patch 2 break it?  Does is work for anyone else?

I'd guess it's "Mechanic" under another name. Don't mind him, he's, er,
dumb.
