At Talladega and Daytona the Winston Cup cars have a "restrictor"
plate placed between the carberator and the Intake Manifold. Esentially
the plate has holes that are smaller than normal and thus limits the
ammount of fuel/air mixture that can be moved to the combustion chambers.
This effectively limits horsepower and controls speed which has become
WAY TO FAST at those tracks.
In Nascar racing the restrictor plate is automatically placed so
that your speed is limited at Taladega. To drive a car without the plate
you need to edit a part of the track.txt file. This can be tricky and
you should definately have a backup ready. Unfortunately I don't know
the exact procedure, but I'm sure somebody will let you know.
