The smearing is gone from the track itself, but the walls and the infield
edges have the same off color smearing.  It even chases you in the mirro
too.  I've tried 3 different drivers, including official 3dfx and 2 3rd
party efforts and it shows up in all three.  There is kinda a flashing on
the walls in the replays, as if the textures are being
covered\uncovered\covered\and finally uncovered(or revealed if you will)...
Somebody has descrip this as a mip mapping error.  I'm just about ready to
try and track down these 3rd party driver writers and see if we can get them
to look at the issue for us.  F1 2001 also has some of the same problems.

Heck, according to the NR2002 readme, Nvidia cards don't work too well
either.

Well, considering the Voodoo is going the way of the dodo, I can't really blame
them.  I have a V5, but the company(3DFX) is dead.  It is no more, bereft of
life...<g>

Pushing up the Daisy's etc etc etc....:-)

I have 3 of them actually :-), bought one new and the others 2nd hand,
still running everything I care to play at a decent FPS, although I'll
probably replace the one in my main *** PC with a Radeon 8500 soon,
it *is* getting a bit long in the tooth for N2002

Beers and cheers

The Voodoo 5500 scales very well with faster processors. I was going to buy
a Geforce 3 but now I'm going to keep my Voodoo 5500 and buy an Asus A7V
(KT133A chipset so I can keep all my PC133) and an AtlonXP1600+. It costs
the same as the video card alone and it will give me a bigger performance

I'll put in a Radeon 8500 or Geforce 3 someday though. With Nvidias practice
of releasing video cards every 6 months, hopefully I can pick a GF3 for dirt
cheap sometime soon.

I'm more worried about getting my sims looking good with good framerates
than running 3DMark and getting 200+fps in a crappy game like Quake III.
