I know this has probably been asked a thousand times, but how do you host a
game behind a Linksys router?  I am not sure how to disable the firewall.  I
cannot host NASCAR 2003 or Soldier of Fortune II while the router is plugged
in.  When I unplug it all is well.  Any advice is appreciated.  Thank you.

You have to open the specific ports as outlined in the readme.txt or server.txt files in the install
directory

Sondog,

You can either open up the specific ports, or you can go into the DMZ
and just move your computer out from behind the firewall. The linksys
routers let you do it either way.

Sondog:
The other guys are correct but perhaps you need a little more direct
help.
Log onto your router (http://192.168.1.1) . click on the ADVANCED tab
and then the FORWARDING tab.

in the first service port range field enter 32766
in the second service port range field enter 32809
in the protocol select UDP
enter your IP address of the server machine in the address field

Click on Apply and you are good to go for allowing a full field race.
I think forwarding ports is a bit safer than putting your whole
machine into the DMZ ...

Read the server.txt file in your nascar directory to get all the other
info.
