.03 to .05.....dddddrrooooollll-ing all over. Can you ping people in TEN
for connection rate like in KALI? I am thinking of signing to TEN for
NROS, but have had mixed results with KALI with more than 2 people
racing .

Does TEN work any better than KALI with N2 for whatever reason? Anyone
who has tried them both please share yer thots. I realize that NROS is
not supported under KALI, but am asking here about the playability while
in the game. I do have a decent ISP; my average pings to users in any
game is usually about 400mS.

If you're referring to connections ..yes. If you're referring to
logging on, creating a race, joining a race, running a league, it is
the user interface or Client software that is the true difference.
Kali's connections have always worked fine. But Kali is NOT user
friendly and NOT for the faint of heart. However TEN's interface is
very basic and user friendly. Members don't see or use the server
software or server hardware.

Oh,

You mean what programmers refer to as the nice fluffy stuff. :)

Take 5 people running in a race via Kali, (yeah right) and bring them
over to TEN.

When they ask why it works so much better, the answer has got to be the
servers.

You don't see the server software/hardware, but you sure do use it.

It's part of the big picture.

You get on Yahoo, or another search engine, and you are running a
program on someone elses computer.

It may look like it's running on your computer, but it ain't.

Actually, motoracer and monster truX play gr8 over Kali.  Nascar2 just
was not coded to play over the net...complain to the makers.  BTW, the
Totally Expensive Network suX.  No game is worth $20 per month, $240
per year (yikes!)...no..not even nas2..pay-4-play suX.

If either supported 20+ people per race you'd see why Kali just isn't
sufficient.

hehe, you don't have a CLUE as to what you are missing, your loss, and
FYI, it is $14 a month and worth EVERY penny.  It can also be as low as $5
a month depending on how much you wish to race.

My clue is more pocket change to buy more games. KALI is the more
economical choice. I guess it's the "community" thing with TEN & NROS?

Hmmm... I agree that KALI plays more reliable in NAS1 than NAS2.
It's interesting that I experience almost no lag/loss in NAS1 using
multi.exe while having myself, an opponent, and computer cars, 38 cars
total.

You should try the Monster Truck carset for NAS1 on KALI! Can't do
that on TEN, NROS, or NAS2. It pretty awesome too!

Hey, I have used Kali ever since the first DOS version came out, and it is
a good product, but comparing the Kali experience to the experience
received on Ten is simply comparing apples to oranges.  $14 a month for
unlimited racing against the best humans is a great deal.  Comparing
racing with ONE person with 38 AI cars is absolutely no comparison, and if
you would give it a try, you would come to the same conclusion.

Again, that is no comparison, you get the same with Modem play, and if
that would satisfy us, we would never have been anxious for the NROS.

Sounds fun, but I am not interested, thanks.
