Sorry to correct you, but they DID have a helmet-cam on one guy.
half the time you can't see terribly well what is happening as it bounces
around too much, but it did give an idea of the G-forces insie the car and of
how rough it is.

I'd like to see a BTCC simulator before an ATCC one - the racing is much more
exciting (and I like the british tracks)

Althought the Calder Park layout they tried a few years back could be
interesting, using the road course as well as the oval section :-)

Could Steven Travers be letting on about some future Papyrus products,
or at least leaving the door open.  I didn't mean to say that Papyrus
was a U.S.-only developer.  As many posts it seems abound from Europe
about Nascar as does from the states.  And I know GP2 will be well
received here in the states.  But, I was curious about the release of
GPM, I had to order mine from Chips and Bits, Babbages or any other
software store didn't carry it let alone hear of it.
Would Papyrus be able to travel to Europe to glean the info. to develop
an F1 sim?  Tantalizing prospects.
I guess my idea for a Hydroplane sim is pretty much washed up, huh?

Hi Greg,

You might have answered that a tad too hastily! Greg Murphy (Orix
Audi) had a helmet cam in the last round of the super tourers. It
looked great, except that it could have been aimed a little higher.
You really get a feel for just how much he moves his head though!

Hope this helps

Maybe with recent forming of a new Series called NATCC (North American
Touring Car Championship) In U.S.A.  American interest in Touring Cars
will grow. It Might even become as popular as in Britan.
Maybe then Papyrus will think of making the game, it's going to be
pretty easy to make i think ;), just use ICR2 game engine and modified
Nascar body. And almost  all ICR2 tracks are used by NATCC and Papyrus
doesnt have to make new once. ;)

P.s. I posted in     alt.binaries.simulators.autos    my version of
Touring Car for Nascar ;

a few weeks ago, and it still seems weird. Does it strike anyone else as
odd to ask a driver to strap a camera to his head, rather than attach it
to the car, or is it just me?

Erm... I thought Oulton itself was worse for wear. I was there this
year for the BTCC meeting and the place is starting to look a little
shoddy! Oh well, I'll be at Croft next year anyway!

It is sadly - but still a lovely circuit. Don't know Croft yet - but
since I'm moving Leeds way soon I'll start going I think (though I'll
continue to work at Oulton while I can) - I gather Croft is due for a
big improvement.

Cheers!
