Not a flame, but just a thought. Maybe someone out there can enlighten us if
I'm wrong. One of the reasons I don't see Papyrus doing a F1 game is the
lack of american knowledge of F1 as a whole. Microprose I guess is
essentially a british company or the development of F1GP2 is on british soil.
Papyrus, when they developed ICR2 and Nascar had help from real teams and
authorities on the spot here in the states. Geoff Crammond, I believe was
helped by individuals involved in F1, the benefits to this sort of inside
info. is beneifical to the realism and authenticity of the sim. Papyrus
probably has neither the inclination or resources to spend the time in Europe
or Australia learning the ins-and-outs of BTCC, F1, or Aussie rally (although
sierra spent all that money to go to Germany for Gabriel Knight).
One idea I would like to toss around and develop would be a
Hydroplane sim. Being originally from the Seattle area, hydroplane racing is
big. However, I'm stationed in Fayetteville, NC not especially a hotbed of
unlimited hydroplane activity and the ability to travel to Seattle, the
Tri-Cities or anywhere else the boats race is not possible right now. Just a
thought of maybe a new avenue for sim fans. Imagine, sitting on a skipping
stone, above glistening water, a huge rooster tail coming out the back
smacking your opponets boat on the pontoons. WOW!!!!
