Not a flame, but just a thought.  Maybe someone out there can enlighten us if
I'm wrong.  One of the reasons I don't see Papyrus doing a F1 game is the
lack of american knowledge of F1 as a whole.  Microprose I guess is
essentially a british company or the development of F1GP2 is on british soil.
Papyrus, when they developed ICR2 and Nascar had help from real teams and
authorities on the spot here in the states.  Geoff Crammond, I believe was
helped by individuals involved in F1, the benefits to this sort of inside
info. is beneifical to the realism and authenticity of the sim.  Papyrus
probably has neither the inclination or resources to spend the time in Europe
or Australia learning the ins-and-outs of BTCC, F1, or Aussie rally (although
sierra spent all that money to go to Germany for Gabriel Knight).
One idea I would like to toss around and develop would be a
Hydroplane sim.  Being originally from the Seattle area, hydroplane racing is
big.  However, I'm stationed in Fayetteville, NC not especially a hotbed of
unlimited hydroplane activity and the ability to travel to Seattle, the
Tri-Cities or anywhere else the boats race is not possible right now.  Just a
thought of maybe a new avenue for sim fans.  Imagine, sitting on a skipping
stone, above glistening water, a huge rooster tail coming out the back
smacking your opponets boat on the pontoons.  WOW!!!!

I reckon papyrus should consider making what would shorly be the most insane racing sim
except GP2 either an australian touring car simulator or a british touring car simulator
preferably the AUSTRALIAN becouse of the most wickedest track in the world
BATHURST mount panorama this would truly be a dream come true and would make any nascar
fan instantly ***ed

EVERY BODY SHOULD EMAIL PAPYRUS AND GET BEHIND THE IDEA AND GET THEM THINKING

Basically, we all know both championships should be sim-ised. The
Aussie 5 litre and the BTCC 2 litre!!! They both kick complete and
utter rump!!!

BTW. This post is not intended to offend anyone, so don't go flaming
me about tourers being rubbish please.

Ta very much,

Australian touring car racing exciting?  Frankly I find it boring.  The
cars pass each other less than F1.  As for Ford vs Holden, about the only
thing that make them Fords and Holdens is the badge on the front.  I will
admit that Bathurst is a nice track but the rest of circuits are to short
for any fun.  (Apart from Phillip Island or Eastern Creek.  Do they still
race the ATCC around these?)

Now the BTCC is another matter, in fact any 2.0 litre tourers are pretty
exciting the way they throw the cars around and bump each other.  That has
some potential.

Not a problem really...
they could just do an NATCC sim then [North American Touring Cars].
That too is a 2 litre championship so there's no worries. AND, they
already have Portland and Elkhart etc. tracks ready and waiting!

Then again, I'd still like to chase Rickard Rydell through the
Cascades at Oulton Park!! MPS??

Cheers very much,

Dave Bowers.

They'll be running the NATCC cars at Toronto this weekend.  With vidcam
in hand, and my new *Snappy!* I might be able to post a couple of decent
pics in ABSA next week so we all know what these things look like.. :)

FROM MUFF & GLENN AGAIN

to mister boring...
u obviously have not been  watching the same series i have this is 96 you know.
How anyone who saw Alan Jones race this year could say boring is beyond me
wat do you need to be satisfied he drove his balls off every race while the
ex champion Bowe wallowed around in 3rd place in an established Ford pakage
and wats more to make it better than the Brits 5litres of pure GRUNT
u no nowt.

Is it gonna be on ABC?  I heard ABC's doing couple of races this year, my
sis caught a promo for one race.

I'm glad you noted that Rickard would be in front!    B-)

Just be careful though - Cascades and Druids armco is looking a bit
worse for wear, and I've had one-too-many incidents at the latter this
year.

Cheers!

I have to agree. I like to watch BTCC on Speed Vision, and they had an aussie
race on yesterday. I thought the action was very hot, lots of passing, framming
and bamming AND e***ment. ALso I liked Athe Aussie camera angles too. They
have helmet cams for the drivers which is something Nascar should check out.
I'd love to see a touring car sim.

There aren't any helmet cams, the shot you're referring to was either
from the passenger seat (on the left in Oz), or from a small box mounted
on the roof. Nice idea though. It'd make Bathurst more interesting,
drivers accidentally smashing cameras on the door frames at each driver
change...:)

Actually there were helmet cams because you could see the camera swivel like
head movements and looking down at his arms and tilting sideway due to gees in
corners etc.
